We are a not for profit organisation that aims to work organically and in an environmentally sensitive way. We are keen to work with the local community, selling veg to nearby cafes and making connections with local customers. Being a ‘Tracker’ is great fun. You can do lots of different things, gardening is not just digging outside, although we sometimes do that.

In the spring there are lots of seeds to sow. We generally do this in modules and pots, so if the weather isn’t good we can take the task into one on the indoor spaces. We have 2 polytunnels and in 2019 the greenhouse will be finished and we will also have a covered outdoor space where we can work. Once the seedlings are growing they’ll need potting on into bigger pots.

As spring turns to summer the plants get planted out and the polytunnel will be full of tomatoes and peppers. These plants all need watering and keeping weed free.

In the autumn there’s always lots of harvesting to do. We also have quite a bit of grass and this needs keeping short, using the petrol mower to do this is always a popular job!

The winter is a time when we can build things, like a new log store for example, or make craft items to sell. Near Christmas we make wreaths.

And of course all year round there are our lovely customers to serve, so if you’re good at counting money and weighing vegetables then this is for you. The customers are always interested in what we are doing so you may end up being a ‘tour guide’.
